Prosecutor’s office appeals order to pay 3 mln rubles to former Euroset employee

10:05 02/06/2011

MOSCOW, June 2 - RAPSI. The Prosecutor’s Office has appealed the Moscow City Court's order to award former Euroset employee Andrei Yermilov 3 million rubles for unfounded prosecution, the court’s spokeswoman reported to the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI).

She added that the Prosecutor’s Office appealed the amount of compensation.

The Supreme Court earlier held against a similar appeal in the case of another Euroset employee, who was awarded over 3 million rubles in compensation.

The former Euroset vice president and his deputy had been charged along with other Euroset employees and the staff of an associated security firm with theft, torture, abduction, extortion, and knowingly false accusation.

Former Euroset co-owner Yevgeny Chichvarkin, who is currently living in London, was indicted for participating in the crimes. However, in January 2011, prosecutors closed the criminal case against him.
