11:01 19/10/2011

MOSCOW, October 19 - RAPSI, Natalia Belova. A commercial court has adjourned until September 20 its hearing of a Danone subsidiary's challenge of a state procurement tender for baby food, the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI) reports from the courtroom.

Nutricia, a Danone subsidiary, has contested the validity of a state procurement tender for baby food supplies in 2011 from which it was barred, and has requested to terminatethe relevant public contracts. Moskva Zlatoglavaya trading house won the tender to provide free baby food to Moscow residents. Moscow government and district health departments and some hospitals and outpatient clinics are involved in the case as co-defendants.

The electronic auction organizer was involved in the case as a third party at the previous session.

The court postponed the case on Tuesday because it was unaware if the third parties had been duly notified of the hearing.

Danone told RAPSI that it seeks to "secure fair competition both for itself and the other tenderers ".

Established over 100 years ago, Nutricia specializes in producing food for babies and infants. It has operated in Russia since 1994, and been a part of the international Danone food group since 2007.
