MOSCOW, November 1 - RAPSI, Alyona Yegorova. A court of appeals will hear on November 28 the Moscow government's appeal against the recovery of $17.84 million in favor of UniversStroyLuks for constructing a palace in the Kolomenskoye nature reserve, the court told the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI) on Tuesday.
UniversStroyLuks is a construction company based in Moscow. It specializes in designing, constructing and reconstructing construction facilities. It also invests in facilities, which are under construction in different regions of the country.
Tsar Alexei Mikhailovich's wooden palace was renovated and officially opened in the reserve in September 2010. The palace itself was built in the mid-17th century.
The company requested to recover the debt for activities to recreate the palace.
The works were conducted under a state contract concluded in 2009. The plaintiff believes that it was not paid in full, as the palace is unique. Therefore, the design estimates were amended several times. The company said the palace has already opened and is used by the reserve.
On September 14, the Moscow Commercial Court obligated the government to pay $17.84 million in unjust enrichment. However, it refused to collect the penalties amounting to $723,675.
