MOSCOW, February 10 - RAPSI. Uralkali appealed against a court decision to pay recover $57.17 million from it and Computershare Registrar (registrar of Sylvinite's shares), the Russian Legal Information Agency (RAPSI/rapsinews.com) reported from the courtroom on Friday.

The Perm Territory Commercial Court satisfied on January 11 a lawsuit filed by former Sylvinite shareholder Anatoly Lomakin to recover 1.7 billion rubles ($57.17 million) from Computershare Registrar and Uralkali as compensation for illegally writing off his stake in Sylvinite.

Russia's largest calcium chloride producer, Sylvinite merged with Uralkali last year to create the world's largest manufacturer of the chemical.

According to Uralkali, Lomakin submitted the lawsuit against Computershare Registrar and Sylvinite in January on the illegal transfer of 61,980 ordinary shares of Sylvinite that belonged to him.

The lawsuit states that the shares were written off following fraudulent actions by an unidentified individual. Lomakin assessed the damages at 1.7 billion rubles ($57.17 million).
