Investigators seek to arrest Chelyabinsk Region ex-governor in absentia
MOSCOW, May 5 (RAPSI) – Investigators have filed a motion with a court in Yekaterinburg demanding to arrest in absentia former governor of Russia’s Chelyabinsk Region Mikhail Yurevich suspected of taking 26 million rubles ($451,600) in bribes, lawyer Igor Trunov told RAPSI on Friday.
The motion will be considered on May 12, according to the attorney.
Investigators believe that Yurevich regularly received bribes. Their amount was estimated at 26 million rubles. Moreover, he instigated Oleg Grachev, who had been appointed to the position of the First Deputy Governor of the region, to spread libel about ex-chairman of the Chelyabinsk Regional Court Fyodor Vyatkin.
Yurevich has been put on the international wanted list.
