Over 38,000 complaints submitted to Russian human rights commissioner in 2018

MOSCOW, June 10 (RAPSI) – Russia’s High Commissioner for Human Rights Tatyana Moskalkova received 38,650 applications in 2018, according to the ombudsman's report.

The number of submitted complaints dropped by nearly 4,000 as compared to 2017, the ombudsman told President Vladimir Putin on Monday. The transcript of their conversation was published on the Kremlin website.

According to Moskalkova, among applicants are foreign currency mortgage borrowers, hoodwinked investors. Moreover, the ombudsman’s office received many applications from Ukraine and other countries concerning citizenship, she said.
